Value of CC points at redemption?

Hello all,

Does anyone redeem points and have a sense of what a good redemption value of points would be?

The wiki/sticky http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/carls...-me-first.html
says

"What is the value of CC points?
There's debate about the value of CC points (see this thread on valuation). If you redeem 50k points at a $500 property in Paris, your points can be worth 1cpp. More typical redemptions will yield values of perhaps .5-.8cpp, and exceptional values can be much higher (e.g., in cases of high occupancy). "

Is this still valid? I have found a C&P rate that would allow me to redeem at .65. Is this worth it or should I hold out for better? I like to optimize my point redemption but also don't want to waste time if I'm unlikely to find it. I've read online (off FT) that many people feel the CC points are valued at .4.
