Here is a good story last weekend I went with my son to buy him a new car, his car was totaled and he getting a check for 12k. When we were finalizing the deal somehow c card use came up and the finance guy said "do you want to put the 12k on a card", I said "for free" he said yes the dealership owner allows it. It sure made the 12k/6 months spend on the BA Virgin card a lot easier. I had no idea a car dealer would allow it - live and learn.
I was going to use a miles credit card when we purchased our last car a few years ago (for down payment). The dealership said they usually only allow $2500 on a credit card on a new car purchase but let us do $5000 since we'd spent a lot of time waiting...
