I never had this issue with United. It's very frustrating. Anyone know why simple things seem so complex?
It's a shame AA went into bankruptcy and killed the deal with Hewlett Packard for the development of a new CRS/PSS, JetStar, but that's how it went.
Otherwise, it's largely a matter of what you get used to.
My AA flights for close by flights book quickly. Some of my awards or complex ticketing issues go to "on request" or "pending" for a while, but I've not had trouble with them clearing and the time in limbo is dependent oh how far out the travel is.
Obviously, U.S. (AA's new management) and the joint IT departments chose Sabre with a Qik overlay over Shares with a Qik overlay, with the background knowledge of moving from Sabre to Shares when America West took over US Airways.
I'm not about to second guess them without extensive IT knowledge and experience with both systems.
