Came upon a way to pay via debit card online - but it's not for the meek.

I was late paying my bill. Just totally forgot. When I went online and saw it was past due, I immediately went to pay via transfer, just to stop any bleeding. I figured I lost the ability to pay via debit by phone, but the most important was to pay immediately and ask for a fee refund.

I can't remember the full sequence, but I had a different series of windows and one asked me if I'd like to pay by debit. So, sure, yeah, debit.

Anyway, I did. No fee to pay. Then I chatted and they waived any late fees.

I think I was two days late.

Obviously, there are some problems with this approach, but it might make sense in some situation if you need to avoid a phone call.
