Well no...if I have added 8% more seats and filled an extra 6% seats then I have more bums on seats but I have either added a bit too much capacity, or added some headroom for future growth, or my capacity growth is in new routes not yet fully bedded down, or......
So planes are certainly NOT emptier than before. There are MORE J passengers (If I had 100 seats and I add 8% I have 108 seats capacity. If I was selling 90 seats I am now selling 96 seats)
And I have more spare capacity for future growth. I cant add capacity a seat at a time especially as I introduce new fleet and stand down old fleet. I manage as best I can of course.
