People bring this up all the the time, but the fail to cite what happens if AA does indeed violate these terms. The answer? Nothing. AA won't be penalized.
But were these conditions even part of the agreement with the DoJ to begin with? I thought this matter with the 5 or 6 state AGs was a separate issue. And the agreement amongst the parties was reached in order for them to not challenge the merger in court. But once again, there ain't nothing they can do now about it now should the airline decide to cut flights in those states. More so since the ailrine isn't reducing capacity systemwide.
