Point with Asiana is more that you get a gold card for life if you have 500.000 miles.

Agreed on points redemption with far-away carriers, although I have to say that I never had an issue with finding empty capacity. I love putting SAS points into TG flights, though... and TG is usually pretty wide open on *A awards (compared to other partners).
