I'm a little miffed with AS right now and was hoping to get some input as to whether my situation warrants any compensation.
Last weekend I was flying a red eye from ANC to PDX with my family. We have a lap child as well as a couple other children. After boarding the flight we had to sit on board for an hour due to a crew member not making it to the airport on time (apparently the crew member had to stay at a non standard hotel and couldn't get to the airport [...? take a cab]). So they left us on board with all the lights in the plane at 2am. Our lap child was crying and wiggling making everybody miserable, we did our best to entertain her but it was not fun. I feel like AS needs to both handle their crews logistics better and not board people up if there is going to be a long delay.
Then on our return flight PDX to ANC we boarded up during the early family boarding, right after we got on the computer systems went down. Our flight was delayed a little over a half hour. This wasn't as inconvenient and I think this was kinda just one of those things that happens but it still left a little bit of a "jeez what else can go wrong" type of sentiment in my head. While waiting on board one of the flight attendants made a snarky comment to my wife for letting my infant stand on the tray table (while being held).
My question is do you guys think this warrants any compensation like mileage or discount codes from AS?
