I emailed the credit card application to fund my wife's Citigold with 2 cards on Fri 8/7 and hadn't heard from them for several days, so I faxed in a form with only 1 credit card (BoA Alaska for $15K) again on Thur 8/13. I then figured that I might as well just call in, so I did that about an hour later and was able to get a rep to fund the account over the phone. The next day, there was a pending charge on the card for $15K and the Citigold account had $15K in it. I figured all was good, but today when I check the BofA account, there's a completed purchase for $15K and also a pending charge for $15K. When I spoke to the Citi CSR when she funded the card, I mentioned the fax and she said she would put in a note to cancel the fax transaction so there would be no duplicates. The interesting thing is that when I logged in on Friday, there was only 1 pending transaction, but now 1 is complete (dated 8/14, finalized on 8/15) and 1 is pending (date 8/14). The total charges on the card is listed at $30K (CL is $16K). I'm unable to check the balance of the Citigold account because now it wants me to enter in the bank account and debit card numbers, which I don't have handy at this moment (at work).
I suppose it wouldn't be the worse thing in the world if my wife is able to fund her Citigold with $30K (extra 15K Alaska miles ain't bad!), but her CL is only $16K!
I haven't heard anything of this before! But I do know you can call in to get a temporary credit limit increase for a larger purchase.
A quick question: what did you set your CA limit to? Is it the business card? Mine ran as a CA for only $8000. And you did this on 8/13?
