Pardon me, but were the two PNR's linked (even though it doesn't serve this purpose?) How would AC know you two were traveling together?

And if there are 15 empty seats, why not invite the SE's/Elites to fill them? That makes sense to me...(it really does).

This is precisely IMHO the reason why AC should never do an op up.

This to me is like two people buying a lottery ticket. One wins, and then the other goes...wait, she's my wife, I want to win too because she won. It makes 0 sense to me.
