I agree with AC in this case here. One of you got lucky and got upgraded to J. No way should AC have upgraded the other person to J too. This is not in line with how AC treats the integrity of the J cabin.

Sorry. I would have been thankful for the op up and called it a day. I think what AC should have done was to allow both of you to remain in PE and for the person who was upgraded to J to have declined it.

If AC had allowed both of you to be in J, and I saw that (op up for another pax because one of you were op upped already - say because I overheard your convo), I would be sure to let a few contacts I know at the executive level at AC hear about it. It's very much against SOP and those employees would have been severely reprimanded, if not fired from the airline for op upping the other pax because the first pax was op upped- unless I was op upped too
