I would second KatW's thoughts about there being no there there - my office is right across the street, and there isn't much there (try walking anywhere to get a sandwich at lunch ...). If you have to be in the area it is a good place to stay, but I wouldn't go out of the way to go there.
That said, we did stay there for a family wedding a month or so ago (on a Virtuoso rate):
We were able to check in early, in a failed attempt to get our daughter to nap at the hotel. They did try to upsell my wife when she called to see if the room would be ready - "nothing in your category is ready, but we can upgrade you for $50." She mentioned the virtuoso rate, and our upgraded room was ready when we arrived around noon.
The hotel is georgous, and the rooms were really nice. Very good sized (even with a rollaway for our daughter), but bathrooms, shower was awesome. The pool area was really nice, and service there was great. The spa was also really nice (got a father's day massage) - wish it was cheaper or I would walk across the street from my office more regularly.
The food was pretty good - better by the pool than room service breakfast (but not surprising). Expensive though - everything for lunch was $20+ (not surprising, particularly given the lack of anything else nearby).
They didn't attach the rails to the rollaway properly, so our daughter fell out Saturday night (she was fine - actually seemed happy about it). They were apologetic and didn't charge us for the roll away. The manager called and the housekeeping manager stopped by. It would have been nice to have paid for one of our lunches or something, but I wasn't going to push them. So from a recovery standpoint they did what they had to, but really didn't go out of their way.
They did a good job for the wedding. I think they focus on corporate business (this was their only wedding in June!), so I think somethings weren't quite as polished - for example, I don't think they ever brought the champagne and glasses to the bride's suite as she was getting ready (which they apparently said they would). But one of our friends was the coordinator, and said they were really good to work with.
All in all, would I go back? Probably not, but that is more that it is across the street from my office and really close to home (SF) than anything negative about the hotel. Probably rather go up to Sonoma/Napa instead ...
