CLT beats the northeast hubs for another reason. Weather. Winter doesnt hurt it much. There are the occasional thunderstorms in summer, but nothing like what winter does to Philly and the NYC hell. The fog in philly outstrips Tstorms in CLT any time.
I so agree, particularly in winter -- not only for the TATL segment, but also for my domestic connections (especially since mine are all on Express flights). I do all I can to avoid PHL in Jan and Feb.

Indeed, for TATLS, there's the problem that CLT-Europe flies right over the northeast, but hey,its extra miles, right?
And eastbound, it's extra sleep too. I'll choose CLT over PHL as even an extra 30 mins of sleep can help me feel more human when I get in.
