Hello all,

I have a bunch of UA miles that I'd like to use. I'd like to use them to redeem on a *A carrier where I pay for economy but then use my UA miles to upgrade.

and it shows how many miles I'd be required to use. But what I can't find is an easy way to see online if the *A airline has availability for me to use miles assuming I bought the economy ticket. Is the only way to call the airline (Turkish, Thai, etc.) to see if they will upgrade a flight if I bought the eco fare?
