Maybe it has something to do with the H1-B I have coming up.
It was filed as a Change of status and will become active October 1st.
Until then, my L1-B is still active.
It could be possible that whatever check they do picks the first visa it finds (which wouldn't be active yet).

I guess I'll see what they say at the Airport/Border. I hear Newark has a nice overnight cell
