I recently became an MVP for the first time. I purchased a flight on a non-qualifying fare Juneau-Anchorage and I requested to be waitlisted for a First Class upgrade. There are currently 3 empty seats in First Class. I believe 2 seats are saved for upgrades since First Class seats become unavailable for purchase when there are 2 empty seats left.

To my understanding MVP upgrades are supposed to be processed 48 hours before departure, but it is now 24 hours before departure with 3 empty First Class seats and I haven't received an upgrade. I checked in on my iPhone app but I still cannot view the waitlist. Is it normal for upgrades to not be processed 24 hours before departure even with 3 remaining First Class Seats? Might I wait to receive an upgrade at the gate?
