Best piece of advise I could give you is DO NOT MAKE INBOUND STOPOVERS unless you have 5 or 6 hours of layout. But as you are looking for TP, if you reeaaaaly want to do this particular itinerary, you better be the first out of the plane on arrival to JFK !
OP is arriving at JFK on a domestic service from SFO so Immigration isn't an issue with that connection.
