I use the standard version (without the front pockets) and find it excellent for up to 4 days business travel with this being my only bag. It's bigger than a standard briefcase and I doubt it would fit under a seat.

My one comment regarding your use would be the strength of the handles if looping a bag over, I think after a while it could weaken the handle.

The interior is flexible for your packing needs and I find the top zip pocket ideal for keys, wallet, etc.

If buying again I would look at the hybrid model simply for the easy access front pockets, however these do add depth to the bag.
