But to attain that 25K status I will have to fly on Flex fares which will cost me easily $1000 more than Tango fares. Because of the continual erosion of Altitude benefits over the years I'm thinking that now might be as good a time as any to stop chasing Altitude status and see what it is like to fly without it. I'd be interested in hearing from others who have given up Altitude status. Have cheaper fares and the resulting loss of status been worth the sacrifice of perks like priority boarding? Your comments would be appreciated.
If your primary flight patterns are on AC (*A) I would recommend crediting to UA due simply to the lack of a comparative devaluation. If you're not bothered about *A I would then suggest AA (OW) as they only require 25k miles to get Gold which provides a comparable benefits package.

I gave up on chasing Attitude status a long time ago as the only tangible benefit i saw was the eUps which as we all know are virtually useless so what else do they offer that cant be had with another FFP?
