UA does open J seats on SFO/LAX-SYD and LAX-MEL, but it's going to be exceptionally difficult to link one of those to a t-con (6 hours) except in Y.

This plan doesn't make any sense to me at all. From Europe the Asia routing is much better. LH to BKK or SIN, TG or SQ to SYD.
