Depends on the car dealer...at my most recent experience (two years ago), every salesperson in the dealership had a sign on their desk reading '$5,000 maximum allowed to be paid via credit card for vehicle purchases.'
All the ones I dealt with locally have a limit of $2K to $2,500. I was told that in addition to the transaction fees they also have the issue of someone contesting the charges if they charge the entire vehicle
