That card/plan was only for internet because I did not need voice calls, it was an excellent value and I am not sure if I used more than 30% of it. Coverage was good - 3G+ in Ubud area and mostly 3G in other areas.
It was quite useful to have the card. What was frustrating - no idea how to check the usage of the traffic because instructions were only on Indonesian. Either way, I do not think that I've used more than 30% of the allocated limit.
115k means you overpaid pretty significantly for that small amount of data. I'm sure your taxi driver got a nice commission
I don't know the exact sequence for checking Simpati quota, but you have to navigate the *123# menus. "Cek Quota" under Paket Internet is what you're looking for. They usually send you SMS when you get low, so you're right you probably never got close. I always reset my Cellular Data usage on my iPhone so I can keep track.
I had XL and highly recommend it as there's a great iOS and Android app. Tells quota, can sign up for packages, and its in ENGLISH!
