Unfortunately you won't be able to check in the bag at T7 in this situation either, not the day before travel. AA's rules are relatively well known - if rather different to BA's approach - and I'm not surprised they declined to through check. Given you'd still have to lug them over to T7 you may as well go straight to the hotel with them.
