Best analogy I've heard to date: Codesharing is like pushing the Coke button on the vending machine and getting a Pepsi.
I doubt you'll have any luck. I recently flew HP on a codeshare from CO. Nowhere NEAR the level of service.
Next time, I'll just look at the flight numbers a little closer (that's one possible tipoff - an unusual flight number may signify a different carrier).
Example: A CO Flight # in the 8000 range indicates NW (CO Flight 8221 is NW 221).
