I have been known to pack my chargers and cables in my my checked bag. They can get a little heavy in my purse. That said, I am careful which ones I pack. The proprietary charging brick for my cheap ASUS laptop, generic USB cables and my blackberry cables usually get checked. Also the 6' household extension cord I usually travel with. (Amazing how often I use that extension cord) I figure nobody really wants those.

My Apple charging block and the cable for my Ipad get buried in my purse. I'm pretty sure a lot of people would want those. Never check them. And they are ridiculously expensive to replace.
