I just picked up the spg business card recently and am wondering if I should renew my personal card. The only reason I can see for doing so is so I could get the extra 2 stay credit towards gold status. I am four stays away from making gold this year and have some upcoming travel planned. Is it worth it to go for gold or does the status I get from the credit card basically get me the same result? Next year I am planning to head to Japan and I am wondering if I should try to obtain gold status for next year or if the treatment in Asia will be the same regardless. Is it worth it? Should I ditch the personal card to save on the AF? The retention offer is 500 pts and then another 1k points for 1k spent.
