Booked a reservation with no AA status last week. Since then, I signed up for the PLT challenge and the agent did a temporary gold status due to BAEC status. All boarding passes (passbook and paper) did not reflect my AA status. Upon arrival this morning, the attendant at the Admiral's club removed and re-added my AA # to the reservation and all boarding passes changed to black upon refresh.
For all reservations booked prior to having status, you will need to have this done. The AA system has no ability to automatically recognize status and update your existing bookings to reflect that.
