You might be surprised. It's not clothes in a bag, but I started tying a (originally clean and brand new) tube sock to the handle of my otherwise nondescript checked bag. I have seen more than one person reach for my bag, then drop it like a hot potato the second they see the sock (which of course now is grubby from traveling). I don't know if they really think it's a used sock or not, but it seems to work - so your dirty clothes might do the trick!
