I’m after a bit of advice and help, basically trying to understand how the tier miles work.

I’m currently a Blue member and I’m looking to get to Silver status. Below is a summary of my tier miles status:-

My account currently says I have 9,300 Tier miles, which expire by 31 Dec 2015
I have several upcoming flights all before 31 Dec 2015, which takes me up to 19,300 tier miles, as the following statement on my account ‘You require 5,700 additional Tier Miles by 31 Dec 15 to reach Silver (includes future bookings)’

Here is where I’m unsure how this works, and can’t seem to find clear information to my situation.

1) To get the additional 5700 miles, do I have book and take flights before 31 Dec 2015. Or if I book future flights which will occur after this date, do they get added?

2) If the above answer is that the flights have to be before the 31 Dec 2015, then when I check to modify a booking and upgrade from Economy to Business (might treat myself flying home for Christmas), Do I get additional Tier miles, as I cannot find on the emirates website when I go through the process

Apologies if the above is unclear, I have tried to be succinct as possible, but any help would be appreciated.
