Very weird phone call tonight to Chase for my ink bold. I just called and asked if there are any retention offers on my account. The rep said she could only tell me what my offers are after I agree and say I will cancel my card if I don't accept the offer. So basically, she said she will let me know what my offers are and if I don't accept it, she has to cancel the card regardless and I can't think about the offer.

Never had that happen. Then again with all the changes going on it would not surprise me if they are using new tactics. I would call back and see what a different rep says. For all we know it could be one individual who is saying stuff like that to pressure people into retaining their card, but if a second person says the same thing then its likely to be a shift by Chase. What happens if they tell you they have no offers for you? I find it kind of absurd that they would pressure someone to make a decision right there on the spot.
