Why would you purchase two simple one way or RT tickets on Expedia rather than directly from the airlines operating the flights? If something goes wrong, this just adds hassle and potential cost.
A good and competent real live human travel agent might be able to put everything together on one ticket, which would protect you against schedule changes, missed connections, etc. and allow you to check bags through as well as probably get boarding passes all at once.
