I'm currently living in Spain and considering the Diners Club Card I could apply for locally.... since the new Canadian applications don't seem to be for anytime in the near future. I'm mainly interested in it for the lounge access at relatively low cost (90€/year) it offers.

I did a bit of research and couldn't find a lot of information about the cards not emitted in the US/Canada.

From what I understand this card has no affiliation with Mastercard unlike the US one. Does anybody know how easy it is to pay with it around the world especially in Spain/Europe. I assume most carriers and hotels accept it, but for the day to day expenses ?

Any thoughts about the global club rewards program ?

Is the travel insurance it offers any good/similar to AMEX?
