Most people don't have a problem with flyers that have status, or even taking advantage of having status. It's when a flyer is a pompous jerk that most reasonable people are offended.
I do understand the thread very well. But I think it is the responders to the OP who are being the pompous ones.
He was well within his right as a nobody or a diamond to demand a red coat when the GA was being unresponsive. That is the purpose of a red coat. I am sure the RC would have done the same response to whomever had the request. Being a diamond only got him the RC sooner
