Having just read a thread about a chap whose girlfriend's father keeps getting upgraded, and having seen the discussion about what makes one more or less likely to be upgraded, it got me thinking...

If you check in online the day before you fly and select your seat, are you less likely to be upgraded versus not checking in online, not selecting a seat and having to wait for what's left when you arrive at the airport?

Nowadays, everyone checks in online and selects their seat don't they, it's been around for a while now, so does it infact have little effect on the upgrade situation.
