Following up just in case someone hits this same scenario... I was able to get AA to post the miles after speaking with a supervisor. I booked the tickets on usairways.com in 11/2014, return in e class. In 2/2015 they declared e class as not receiving miles. Explained to the supervisor that it wasn't fair as I didn't know about that at the time of the ticketing, and he agreed.
