Told they are sold out due to an insurance convention at hotel (so they all booked Park view rooms?

). 1.5 hours to get bags after check-in, which caused us to curtail sight-seeing a bit. No working air (I know its Dublin, but 78+F is a little much). Told it was working and nothing can be done to make it colder. Could change rooms but would have to wait until the evening (passed). Terrible Irish breakfast in the Saddle Room. Actually, the worst European breakfast in all the European Marriotts we've stayed in (they've all been good, but I do want to throw up when Paris RENs put cream in scrambled eggs

). Everything was cold at 8:30am and 2/3 pastries gone.
Upon check-out, I get asked if I enjoyed my stay. I respond that I honestly didn't. No response back. And to top it off: check-out processes bill using dynamic currency conversion into USD without asking. I point out in the nicest way possible I needed it in Euros as that charges me an extra 3%. All of a sudden, I get a bunch of 'tude. I guess I got labeled a "complaining guest" by check-out lady.
FYI, stayed later in the week for 2 nights at Morrison Doubletree on the river. Great property and I recommend over Shelbourne.
Just curious, did you try to use mobile check out? When it first came out it offered a choice between USD and local currency, even in the US. I have not seen that choice in a while, which is too bad because I was really happy with it. Was the main reason I started using mobile check out.
