If i'm using Singapore Krisflyer miles, i'll have to transit through Singapore to get to either Bali or Phuket, so i figured to bake in short stay there. But instead of that, i could instead do a long 22 hour layover in Singapore on my way to my final destination, save myself $200 in stopover fees, and eat my way through all the hawker centers in the city-state lol.

My girlfriend/fiance is pretty fixated on Bali. If not bali, what other beach-side location in SE asia would you recommend?
