Its 250 miles each way (or used to be when I took it, maybe it has been increased now on United?). I think that some of United's partners like Lufthansa credit 500 miles. I have taken it once only because of the fare difference. Its typically a couple of hours, including waiting for the bus, and then the bus ride, not worth it in my opinion just for the miles. These are also not eligible for elite bonuses, nor for the qualification for elite status, 500 mile upgrade certs.
