Why would TSA care at all. In theory, you could be asked to turn the device on to prove that it works. But, that's extraordinarily unlikely and the device works. So, again, why would TSA care if for some reason you are asked to remove the device from your carry-on?

You noted that you are traveling overseas. Whether some other nation's security people care is a matter to research, but again has nothing to do with your question about TSA.
