Not sure I understand what you mean by redeem? Free tickets are tricky with them. They have really unique way for upgrades. Everybody can make upgrade bids or use vouchers. They call upgrades bids "one up". Basically you can move from economy to premium economy or from premium economy to business (as a result they don't have premium cabins seats left). Air New Zealand to the best of my knowledge goes directly from Vancouver and Los Angeles only. Its business class is mediocre but premium economy is literally the best among all the airlines. Every premium economy seat is a separate and individually angled cocoon/shell. They call it space seats or capsules. Google/Youtube Air New Zealand Boeing 777 300 premium economy. No need to purchase business on this route, you save well over 50%. They even have option for beds in economy class. I got tickets for January to Australia with them in premium cabin.
