I agree the best course of action is to request the property to properly insert the cash+points stay, while a guest at their hotel; Less annoyance, less follow-up and much more efficient.
Are you aware of any specific language that could be used on checkout that would help Accor staff find/discover/remember this option? E.g. "Could you request approval to insert the points for this stay manually"?
I'm planning to try this for an upcoming stay and will be happy to report back.
