Tried searching but couldn't find any info. Flying with my SO for business and both of our companies (different) are paying for the tickets (great luck that we both need to be at the same place at the same time). I'm going to waitlist both of us for an RPU, but she doesn't have status. Just realized that she'll clear on her own (none) status and not mine anymore. Would be very bad if I get the upgrade and she doesn't. Need FT's wisdom here. Is it even possible to have one PNR and 2 separate forms of payment (For expense purposes, have to use our respective corporate cards, so noting on the receipt is out of the question)? Or am I stuck booking separately and hoping we both clear? Or if we book separately, am I better waitlisting just her with the RPU, and not putting myself for an UG until she clears?
Alternate solutions (not optimal, but maybe worth a try):
Book together, pay with one card, apply RPU. Split after getting RPUs to clear, or when it's apparent they will not clear. Submit the separate receipts. Will not work if initial charge had to be made on the card.
Another option is to do as above, but then book separate bookings to put on the charge card. Then cancel within 24 hours, but after printing receipts. Will not work with some corporate expense systems.
Final option: Buy on one corporate card the amount it would cost on a gift card/gift cert. Then book together, apply the gift card/gift cert, and pay the balance with the other card. Then proceed as above.
