AA will rebook you on a later flight to SEA if you don't make your connection, no problem. Whether that is on the next day's AA or the later same-day UA flight is entirely up to AA. AA has a very accommodating policy with misconnects.

Whether BA reimburses your hotel room is another question, the answer to which is probably 'no'. If you arrive on time but miss your AA flight because of immigration queues, they won't. If you arrive four hours late, you can claim €600 under EC/261, but by then you'll have probably missed all flights to SEA. If you are, say, one to three hours late and miss your AA flight, you should probably try and claim your room to BA, but I don't think it's a clear case.
