With no checked bag, I was through into Arrivals pretty quickly. I had pre booked a car to take me to the hotel having heard that taxis were notoriously dodgy...the guy was waiting there with my name on a card. We walked to the car park and were on our way. He was a chatty guy. Telling me all about Romania, the Revolution and the overthrowing of communism. Interesting guy. We got to the hotel within half an hour and he booked me in for the return trip to the airport on Monday afternoon.

I was checked in and the Reception Manager gave me a big talk about everything that was available to me in the hotel and that he had upgraded me to a junior suite (perk of being an Ambassador but even better when you're on the Ambassador weekend!).

The welcome gift was a nice bottle of red wine which is actually very nice. Going down gradually evening by evening.

There's a small balcony too which overlooks one of the main boulevards in the city.

There's a pool, sauna, jacuzzi and gym on the 22nd floor so I took a wander up there to see what it was like and admire the views across the city.

And a panorama shot which actually worked!!!

There's also a balcony outside on the top floor with space for around ten sun loungers.

It was after 6pm (Happy Hour!) so I changed and headed up to the Club Lounge on the 21st floor. It serves breakfast in the morning and cocktails and canapés in the evenings. It was dead when I arrived so it was a good chance to get some pictures.

The selection of canapés was very tasty. There are different things each evening - mini lasagnes, cuts of beef, salmon, sweet chilli chicken, soup, mini desserts and various nibbles.

Good views from the lounge, too.

The lounge also has an impressive selection of spirits, wines, beer and fizz along with all the usual soft drinks.

After stuffing myself with all the goodies in the lounge, I wasn't too hungry. I chilled out in the bar for a while and then went for a wander around the hotel area before heading back to crash out!
