The location is a lot more convenient than the WA, the rates when I was there were a lot better than the WA and the WA does not have a lounge or offer breakfast. Just being across the street from the U and the free breakfast were great. And being able to check in early after flying all night was great.
Did you try the breakfast in the breakfast room? It's one of the best breakfast in a hotel I have had.
I went to the Hilton Paris Opera the same day I checked out of that hotel and missed the Hilton Berlin. Big difference in treatment of their guests.
Hilton Berlin really takes good care of their diamonds compared to other properties
Might be good for Diamond if you get upgraded to Suite or Deluxe rooms. My beef is with Executive King room which is small size and non inspiring decor. I don't claim to have knowledge of better rooms.
My Hilton experiences are limited to around 10 properties plus few Conrads and WA's. In no way I claim it to be exhaustive list to compare to. You and some others just make this sound like heaven on earth and I am thinking that either some people have very low expectations or perhaps stay in suites in which case this doesn't probably touch you except for lounge.
I had the breakfast in lounge. Restaurant option was not offered.
EDIT: prices were W-A King Deluxe 160€, Hilton King Executive 175€ and IC business (club deluxe) 175€
I am also lowly HHonors Silver. Will be back to Gold after this stay.
