Anyone ever try to purchase a money order with VGCs at a payday loan establishment? I called three different check cashing establishments. All three of them offer Moneygram money orders. One of them offers money orders at no cost, but only accepts cash. Another one sells the money orders for $1, but only accepts cash. The third, Checksmart, sells the money orders for $1 each and accepts debit cards. However, purchasers need to be entered into Checksmart's system (providing SSNo, etc.) in order to purchase a money order with a debit card. Not sure I want to provide that information, but am looking to diversify in terms of the places where I purchase MOs.
