The employee in question was being extremely strict and turned back a few people, not just myself, one Gentleman didn't take being rebuffed all to well and threw a bit of a fit, but eventually landed a few people behind me, so even he was unable to get through.
My gut, it was an Airport Employee who was given wrong info or didn't understand the info that she was given as this has never been a problem before.
I placed my card in an empty slot in my Travel Case, so no big deal, but wanted to query the experts to enure that I was not doing something wrong.
I will send in a note to CBP, but I have my doubts that it well get in front of the correct pair of eyes to make a difference.
