Recent 1 night stay.
Very little to add to JDiver's always excellent reports on the hotel itself, although there is a gas station with a reasonable size mini mart next to the hotel.
Friendly welcome with Diamond recognition and offered 2 waters per room. We arrived early and our riverside view rooms (assume that's the upgrade) weren't available so we took other rooms that were available - rooms were a good size but had little furniture so seemd quite sparse.
We ate dinner at Jack's Grill downtown - very tasty steaks in an old style (read basic!) setting - it serves dinner from 5pm, but from our experience you should arrive before then to avoid waiting for a table.
Breakfast had an above average spread and variety for a US HGI.
Have also stayed at the Redding Hampton Inn & Suites recently - similar solid stay - as previously noted it's more centrally located and has restaurant / shopping options located within walking distance.
