My money would be on him getting a push. He's been in government for a long time. Why leave that for the private sector?
Because he worked for an agency that is below the 5th percentile in the annual "Best Places to Work in The US Government" survey? Or that the private sector may pay better than gov't service for the role? Or that he saw more potential for advancing his career at AA and/or in the private sector? Or he had a poor direct supervisor and couldn't transfer out?
Or maybe he just has a soul after all and couldn't fathom working for TSA any longer than he had to?
