Never experienced with BA... BUT
We have several experiences in Asia based around the premise of the article
Tiger Airways out of Singapore (Who may run IT for some of their partners) - in our experience ramp prices and price according to Territory of site entry. We have verified this several times and use VPN to access the lowest price booking Territories.
cTrip out of China (they are very BIG) will remorselessly Bait & Switch. As most bookings are "To Be Confirmed", you need to lay an escape path! VPN and clearing cookies usually works.
